The state government on Friday formed an Urban Development Authority for Morbi-Vankaner areas in Rajkot district. The district collector has been appointed as chairman of the authority while the Morbi prant officer will be its secretary. The authority will cover 19 villages of Morbi taluka, 17 of Vankaner taluka and one of Tankara taluka. With the forming of this authority, two different authorities for Morbi and Vankaner now stand dissolved.
