Rail Coach Factory, the second Coach Factory owned by Indian Railways and third in the country was set up in 1986 at Kapurthala to boost the economy of the State and to augment the existing coach manufacturing capacity of Indian Railways. The factory is located at a distance of 7 kms. from the historical city of Kapurthala.
