With the sole objective of carrying out breeding activity for breed improvement of milch breeds of the state, Gujarat Livestock Development Board was established on 12th April 2002 and was registered under Charity Commissioner Act on 31st March 2003. Gujarat Livestock Development Board (GLDB) has been nominated as State Implementing Agency (SIA) for NPCBB (National Project for Cattle and Buffalo Breeding), a 100% centrally sponsored scheme.
